Not all links are of good value to your site. Let´s look a the difference between good and not-so-good quality links.

One-way links are normally "natural links", when the person linking to your site does not ask for a link in return. These links are very valuable, as the search engines consider that the link has been placed for other reasons rather than "you link to me and I will link to you".

Also known as "two way links". The concept is very simple: I give you a link from my site if you give me a link from yours, or in other words: website A links to website B and vice versa. This is the easiest way to obtain links although in the long run, it may not be the one of the most effective ways, as it can be seen by the search engines as a way to boost your ranking artificially.

More experienced link builders will add further types of links.
